Meridian Seeks to Fill Traffic Safety Commission Vacancy
Meridian, ID - (August 1, 2011) - The City of Meridian is currently seeking an individual who lives in northeast Meridian to fill a vacancy on its Traffic Safety Commission. This commission meets at 3:45 pm on the third Tuesday of each month in the City Council Chamber at Meridian City Hall.
The Traffic Safety Commission is a citizen advisory committee that researches and recommends city traffic safety issues, actions, and priorities. In addition, the Traffic Safety Commission provides a forum for cooperation, coordination, and communication between the City of Meridian, other governmental agencies, and citizens and organizations concerned with the safe and efficient movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic throughout the Meridian community.
Applicants must be Meridian citizens and if possible, represent northeast Meridian (from east of Meridian Road to Eagle Road and north of the interstate to Chinden Boulevard, excluding Old Town). The successful applicant will be appointed by Mayor Tammy de Weerd and confirmed by the Meridian City Council. The term will expire on June 30, 2013.
Anyone who would like to be considered for this voluntary position should complete an application form, which can be found on the City of Meridian web site (www.meridiancity.org) under the City Government link or obtained from the Meridian City Clerk's Office.
